1. CLASS SUMMARY

Lecture Week 1 :

( Introduction to Digital Photography and Imaging )

        In this lecture, Mr. Fythullah, explained to us about the effectiveness of photoshop in the design industry. As a design student, it is necessary to understand the use of photoshop especially to operate in visual styles, website design, or individual experience function and also for those operating in hands-on advertising and marketing function. 

The Importance of Photoshop :

    1. Express your creativity 

- Photoshop provides countless opportunities. The more you learn about its functions, the more adept you become at identifying your own abilities.

    2. Create graphic design

- You can develop the format of a business card, poster, greeting card and also far more

    3. Restoration of old images

- Bring back old photos / worn pictures to be recovered

    4. Integrate graphic with text artistically

- Blend and match pictures with a message to produce the preferred impact 

    5. Make use of brush

    6. Change photo color

- Transform a colored photo into black and white, and also add effects to the pictures to provide a distinct appearance

    7. Rectify mistakes in 

- Conceal the weak points as well as boost the aesthetic allure of the photos

Lecture Week 2 :

    In our lecture week 2, we are informed by Mr. Fauzi, to bring certain items that would be used as our collage practical. During class, he explained to us the importance of structuring your collage, for example through the sizes from big, medium, and small, we were also given our times to cut out magazines and think of any idea we are looking forward to make for our collage assignments. Although nowadays, people often rely on computers graphic to create composition, Mr. Fauzi, wanted us to start of by doing this by hand. Because, before moving on to do our collage digitally, we are also able to come out with good design composition designed by using our own hands.

What is Collage ?

    Collage is a series of creative hand-cut sticked to a paper, such as the pieces of unused magazines, printed materials, and other old papers.

Lecture Week 3 :

    After our two weeks of learning collage, we were assigned to design 3 collage to later be shown by Mr. Fauzi. During our week three, we began to consult to Mr. Fauzi regarding our designs and also receiving feedbacks before finalizing our work. After our work was assessed, we can continue gluing our cut-out pieces and stick them together as how we pictured it. 

Final Outcome :

This design of collage was my final outcome, I started of with the idea of the word "Timeless". At first, my design was just a clock without the lion, but after receiving feedback from Mr. Fauzi, he suggested that I add something in order to not make it look so plain. As a result, this was the final look of my collage assignment.

2. REFLECTION 

    When making a composition, It was pretty tricky to start, especially since we're starting in just a blank piece of paper. However, I tried getting ideas by picturing a word and try to visualize its meaning, just like how I did with "Timeless". In this class, I learned that, collage is about the colors, layouts, and sizes. those are what need to be focused on in creating a nice composition.
