3. PROCESS WORK
3.1 Research :
As we were given reference uploaded in the google
classroom, I started looking at them for ideas regarding the perspective ill
be taking for my character, its placement, and the background setting.
In creating both my character and my composition, I tried to make a medium shot of my character, and the background shown sideways.
3.2 Ideation
We were instructed to show Mr.
Hafiz our sketch of both our composition and background for feedbacks on what
we could do better,
First sketch :
I decided to create a new character for my task 2. in this
exercise, we were assigned on making the background of our character and
shading them using pathfinder. We were allowed to design a completely
different character from our previous work with not limited shapes required.
In this Idea I first sketched was an octopus hanging and is being seen from
the top perspective. But since I thought it may be too simple for a
background, I went on to sketch another piece.
Digital sketch :
For our sketch
submission, I submitted my sketch that I made using Ibis Paint. I was
going with an octopus hanging inside the circus with and additional
tentacle grabbing the iron pole. But after sending it to Mr. Hafiz, we
suggested that I look at the reference given for better ideas for my
background and foreground.
Final sketch :
In this final sketch, I was trying to make the octopus on
the right be the center. And, when previously the red and white fabric
shows the starting point casually in the middle, I then tried to create it
above the octopus to make it seem like a perspective from where he is.
Task 2 :
Make a reference to
one of the examples in the book Framed Ink found in the lectures section of
our Google classroom
5. REFLECTION
Throughout the process of creating the compositions, and new character, there where some struggle I faced, such as the use of tools, ungrouping shapes and others. However, playing around with the pen tool, shape tool, pathfinders, I started to understand it a lot ore as I continued my work.
