Fig 3.2: Script writing

During the process of creating our short film, we started of by writing down story lines and scripts on how certain parts and camera angle will be throughout shooting. We purposely only brought up two characters as only both me and my partner will lead the short film.

After we have written story lines and scripts, we moved on to creating a story board. This part aims to picture on how we want parts of the scene taken, such as the camera angles. We only did a rough sketch to get the idea if it.

Since we were both actors in our short film, when it comes to scene where we must both appear, we would lay the camera on someplace and then start recording. Throughout shooting and acting, we had parts that needed a lot more retakes. Therefore, we continuously improve before we can finally satisfied and move on to the next.

After we were all with all the clips needed in our short film, we then imported them to Premiere pro and start of by adjusting to beginning and end of every clips.

After that, I also continued with applying color grading on all clips, I mostly play around with it and ensuring that every color fits the emotion delivered on every scene.

While still editing, we also searched for background sound for more dramatic effects especially on sad scenes. We ended up using a total of 3 background sound for three different scene.

4. REFLECTION

There were many steps in creating this short film, from script making, story board, proposal, shooting, editing, and any improvements or changes made as we work on this project. Throughout or shooting process, we tried carrying out the video angles we learned during class, such as, middle shot, wide shot, over-the-shoulder shot etc. During the editing parts of this project using Premiere Pro, I gained many new experience and knowledge about it. I sometimes look back to previous works, as well as look through YouTube for tutorials when facing challenges during the editing process.
